I've locked my Cove Hustler thread in which I was talking about moving towards a larger frame full suspension bike with an all mountain style build on it and instead will post my findings here.

I was surfing the net and came across the Trek Remedy which comes in three versions, Remedy 7, 8 and 9. Here is a link to the 7 which is the bottom of the range: -Link-

This bike might appeal to Kev a bit more as it still has a 205 rotor on the front and 160mm travel fork.

Yeah I think Kev would need the extra travel to compensate for his 'spastic stung by a wasp' style of riding! /Jokes

I was thinking of contacting Stif and seeing if they have a couple of different sizes in stock so that I could go and throw a leg over one of the Tomac's to see how they feel. The only problem I can see with this is that theyre based in Leeds lol!

I was thinking, that after ive spunked all my money on a full susser that I might want a lightweight hardtail, possibly single speed for winter thrashing. Something like this might fit the bill, plus its only £200 for the frame and less than 5lbs! -Link-

Nah, its a decent frame as long as I don't try jumping on it lol!

I went into Geared today to chat about tyres and discovered that they have just started offering finance!!!

So, I might look into the Cove's and Titus' bikes that they can get. They also have some mighty fine looking Treks in too.

Darren, they have a 4inch travel Trek Fuel in at the moment, last years model reduced to £1100. Pretty nice bike, would suit your style of riding.

I have been starting to investigate and im curious how much rear travel should be appropreate for me. Over the past year or so i have realised that i was never designed to fly over jumps. Im looking for a more casual XC bike that suits my riding style that is neither big or clumsey but good enough to blaze the downhill. Weight is the second thing that i would also like to take into account, as i dont want to be cranking a heavy ful sus up a hill!

I would like to buy a whole new bike as i have spent alot of time, energy and money on getting my bigfoot just how i want it. However, i realise that i probably will not want to ride my hard tale once i have a full sus, and that it will cost a hell of a lot more if i get a full bike!

I think the geometry of my Norco isnt too good for long rides either, so im looking for something a little different.

I was looking at the Santacruz Heckler: http://www.santacruzbikes.co.uk/bicycles/heckler.html but im not sure if 150mm rear travel is a bit overkill?

You might find that the Heckler is slightly on the heavier side of XC, more towards what I would consider an All Mountain bike.

Getting the sizing right will be important for you Mike, as if you find your Norco small you might need to go up a frame size. All manufacturers are different too with sizes which doesnt help.

The Heckler is an impressive bike.

Im not sure how much you had thought about spending on the Heckler, but a similar spec, but possibly a bit more XC than AM is the Yeti 575: -Link-

Its £2722 and I think Geared can get them in.
